The Tactile Experience of Stone at Salone del Mobile 2025

Milan, April 2025 – Design exists for humans.

It is more than just form or function — it is a continuous dialogue between material, the human body, and sensation. This year’s Salone del Mobile.Milano 2025 explores this connection under the theme “Thought for Humans”, emphasizing the relationship between human anatomy, movement, and touch.

Ukrainian brand llab.design brings a unique perspective to this conversation: how stone — a material often perceived as static and cold — can respond to the human body, becoming sensuous and alive.

Stone takes on an entirely new dimension through „Stone Skin“, a textured finish that mimics the softness of leather. This unexpected sensation redefines the material, opening up a new level of tactile interaction between object and person.

More than just an aesthetic choice, it is an „invitation to touch“, to engage in a sensory experience that places tactility at the heart of design.
The new designs presented by llab.design in Milan are built around this principle: lightness within mass, movement within stillness, warmth within a cold material.

This season, llab.design introduces three new pieces: WAVE dining table, DUALITY floor lamp, and EDGE bookshelf. Each of these objects explores the interplay of light, texture, and touch in a distinct way, yet they all share one purpose: to allow stone to be felt as a living material.

In addition to these new releases, llab.design will also showcase its already recognized DUALITY console and coffee tables, as well as EDGE sideboards and coffee tables, familiar to the Milan audience.

These objects are not just furniture — they create a sensory experience that highlights the role of design in our everyday lives. They explore how surfaces respond to light, how materials interact with the body, and how furniture can be not just functional, but deeply emotional.
